Confidence comes after you begin, not before. The founders who build momentum online aren't the ones with the most complete plan; they're the ones with a funnel that's live. Here is a weekend plan for getting your first one out the door.
Friday evening: decide the one thing
Pick a single freebie you can make in an evening. Not a course, not an ebook. A checklist, a one-page framework, a 10-minute training, a template you already use. Write down who it's for in one sentence and what it helps them do. That sentence is your opt-in page headline.
Then make the freebie. Done is the standard.
Saturday morning: the pages
Open the Lead Magnet template. It already has the opt-in page and the thank-you page, built around this exact decision. Replace the headline with your sentence, add three bullets on what's inside, and add a photo of you. Publish the thank-you page with the download or the link.
Resist the urge to redesign. The structure is doing the work; your words are the variable.
Saturday afternoon: the follow-up
Turn on the delivery automation so the freebie arrives by email the moment someone opts in. Then write three short emails for the days after: one that shares the story behind the freebie, one with a practical tip, and one that names your offer and invites a reply or a call. Plain text. Your voice.
This is the part most people skip, and it's where the funnel earns its keep.
Sunday: test, then tell people
Opt in yourself with a personal email. Read every email as your subscriber would. Fix the typo. Then put the link in your social bio, your email signature, and one post that says what the freebie helps people do.
Practice in public. The funnel will teach you more in a week of real opt-ins than a month of planning would.
Monday morning: the one thing
Look at who opted in over the weekend. Reply personally to each one. That's it. You now have a working front door to your business, a list that's growing, and a reason to keep going.
If you get stuck
On Firestarter Funnels, bring whatever's stuck to live tech hours on Zoom, five days a week, or to 24/7 chat. If you're new, your 1:1 onboarding session walks you through the platform; live tech hours are where you build this exact funnel with the team on screen. Here's how support works.
